One of the most highly-anitipated nights within Limerick’s business community, the shortlist for the President’s Dinner and Regional Business Awards has finally been announced.

The Limerick Chamber is the largest business representative in the Mid-West, and they’ve just announced the shortlist for the eagerly anticipated President’s Dinner and Regional Business Awards.

This year’s event takes place on Friday, November 17, at the Strand Hotel, Limerick. The event usually draws in more than 300 people annually.

Chamber President Miriam O’Connor spoke about this year’s event, commenting: “The President’s Dinner, sponsored by AIB, is a celebration of achievements within the regional business community throughout the year and the work being undertaken by Limerick Chamber to support member’s ambition. During the evening I will be announcing the recipient of this year’s Presidents Award, honouring a person who embodies the spirit of the business community and who has had a significant impact on Limerick the Mid-West.

“Traditionally the identity of the President’s Award recipient remains top secret until the reveal on-stage, however I can say that this year’s honouree is highly accomplished, recognised nationally for their leadership ability, incredibly passionate about the team they lead and has had a tremendous impact on the entire Mid-West.”

The annual regional business awards are a highlight of the night and this year they are sponsored by the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS).

These awards will take into account the work done by a range of companies across various sectors with the finalists battling it out to take home a final category prize. The categories are sponsored by Limerick City and County Council, BDO Limerick, EY, Holmes LLP, The Shannon Airport Group, AIB, Limerick Chamber Skillnet, and Northern Trust.

Every finalist hopes to take home one award – ‘The Overall Business of the Year Award’. This will be presented to the company with the best application, decided on by the panel of judges.

President of TUS, Professor Vincent Cunnane stated: “We are excited to partner with Limerick Chamber for the 13th year to bring together the region’s business leaders, innovators, and changemakers for a night of celebration and recognition. Regional Business Awards highlight the vibrant entrepreneurial spirit and ability of the companies within the Mid-West.”
