Over 100 new full and part-time jobs are to be created in Limerick by sports data company, STATS.
The US firm has chosen Limerick city-centre as its regional headquarters, overseeing European, Middle Eastern and African (EMEA) operations and plan to employ 130 staff by the end of next year.
CEO of STATS, Kenneth Fuchs says that Limerick will help expand and diversify the company’s existing operations.
“Our Limerick location will help develop the next generation of sports technology products thanks to the expanding talent and resources in the market.”
Welcoming the announcement, Mayor of Limerick, Cllr Stephen Keary said that the city is a “perfect fit” for a sports data company.
“Limerick is a city which is passionate about sport. In 2011 we were chosen as a European City of Sport in recognition of our affinity and love of sport.”
Once a permanent location for the company is found, STATS plan to hire 30 full-time employees by the end of 2018, with 100 part-time staff members, making it the largest sports technology company in Ireland.
