Santa Claus will be coming to town next week as ‘Light Up Limerick’ will take place on Sunday November 15th in Limerick City.
Entertainment will kick off at 4pm at Bedford Row and the big man himself will be on hand to do the honour of switching on the lights.
The day of festivities has been organised by Limerick City and County Council in association with Limerick Chamber of Commerce.

Local businesses are expecting this Christmas to be a busy shopping season.
Mayor of the City and County Cllr Liam Galvin believes Limerick will be a leading shopping destination this year.
Speaking about preparations taking place, Cllr Galvin said “the exciting Christmas programme of events will create a wonderful festive atmosphere and enhance the overall shopping experience throughout the city centre.”
A big turnout is expected for the turning on of the Christmas lights which will take place at 4.30pm at the ‘Light Up Limerick’ event.
Many other festive events will be taking place in Limerick city and county on the run up to Christmas.
Everyone’s favourite and Ireland’s longest established ice-skating rink, ‘Limerick On Ice’ will be back for its 12th year at Arthurs Quay, running from the November 26th until January 10th.
‘Celebrating Christmas in Limerick – The City of Fashion’ will run from the 23rd – 27th of November hosted by fashion icon Celia Holman Lee.
King Johns Castle will also be hosting a ‘Medieval Christmas Experience’ in December while the Milk Market will host a number of Christmas markets from the 17th to the 24th of December.
