Night of 1000 Lady Gagas makes a return to the Wickham Way in Limerick
Limerick’s drag community are set to go ‘gaga’ in a night organised to celebrate drag and pop culture. The night of 1,000 Lady Gagas returns to the Wickham Way in Limerick this evening Tuesday, March 11, hosted by C*NT events.
The brainchild of Nove Nexus and Cherrí Aurora, the drag duo hosts monthly shows in Limerick with various music artists as the theme.
Aurora says the show aims to bring “together drag and pop culture” while also providing “a much-needed safe space for the LGBTQ+ community in Limerick, who are yet to have a designated space for queer events.”
Performers are ready to bring Gaga’s iconic music to life. Drag queen Necro Nancy teases that the show tomorrow will look at “Gaga through the years but with a main focus on her album ‘Mayhem!’”
“There will be seasoned queens and some new upcoming performers. C*NT Events is all about giving everyone the chance to drag! Doesn’t matter how much experience you have or what gender you identify as.”
Sassy Weef is also performing tomorrow night promising high-energy performances, stating the event will be “a group of unique individuals executing amazing performances to old and new songs by Lady Gaga.”
She also says the public should strap in for her performances as it will “be a creative take on the amazing songs from the album.
The night is to be one of great fun according to Drag Queen Sour Puss. “The night is broken into two halves so people can have a break in between to get a drink. There’s usually audience games played around that time (usually at the very beginning of the second act).”
With an electric atmosphere and a lineup of talent ready to take the stage, The Night of 1000 Lady Gagas is set to be a highlight of Limerick’s drag calendar.
