History blog Limerick’s Life won the Bronze Award in two categories at the Blog Awards Ireland.
The blog, run by Sharon Slater, came third in Best Personal Arts & Culture Blog, and Best Personal Science & Education Blog.
Presenting at the event, Colm O’Regan said: “Making the final list and the shortlist is a big deal alone as there was thousands of entries.”
In a previous interview with the Limerick Voice, Sharon said that getting through each section is a great honour in itself.
“There are a few different sections in it, you get longlisted first, and then you have to go through judges and then there’s the shortlist and then the finalist.”
“People who may never have seen your website before, have never have seen your blog, who are actually taking the time to look at it and to judge it with fresh eyes, and so far they’ve seen that it’s up to standard enough to get through to the finals.”
Limerick’s Life is a historical blog that deals with the social history of Limerick.
At last year’s Blog Awards, Sharon took home the Bronze Award, and was also awarded the National Heritage Hero Award from the Heritage Council.
