“My ambition is to help you realize that losing weight and getting fitter can be simple – so simple that you can’t not start, no matter how small that start is!”
Karl Henry, from RTE’s Operation Transformation, is coming to Limerick on April 8 at 1pm as part of his Healthy Living Roadshow.
This roadshow in Limerick is the last of Henry’s bootcamps, he is set to go to Cork on Thursday, April 5 and Dublin on Friday, April 6.
100 tickets are available in Limerick, and 24-25 spaces are still free. It’s €15.99 a ticket and this entitles you to entry to Karl’s talk and to one signed copy of his Healthy Living Handbook.
Henry will go through useful lifestyle tips and will ask participants to join him in trying useful exercises they can complete at home.
Henry has released his fifth book titled the Healthy Living Handbook which was published by Penguin Ireland on March 1. He spoke to Limerick Voice reporter Anna Cullen ahead of his day at the Savoy Hotel.
The book contains “really, really simple recipes” that are “quick and yummy”. It gives you tools for a healthy life and goes through “exercise in detail” while showing you how to “maximise your time” when working out.
Having started working at a gym set up by his dad in 1986 in Dublin, Henry had a full business going traveling around in his car to people’s houses before he finished his degree in personal training.
He then went on writing for magazines and newspapers and working in radio and eventually TV. One day, he got a phone-call from Noel Kelly asking to partake in Operation Transformation, which originally was on the radio. It did well on radio and so expanded on to TV.
Henry feels the show is an “amazing chance to give back” to people.
He is planning on launching his own podcast with the Irish Independent which will be played on the platform on Friday, April 13. It will contain healthy advice, celebrity guests and will “make health simple and do-able”.
