There’s no shortage of exciting events on in Limerick this week – whether you’re into music, sport, comedy or just want something to do. Limerick Voice will keep you updated every week on what events are coming up on Shannonside to make sure you don’t miss a thing.
Family and kids
Storytime for Children: The team at Watch House Cross Library in Moyross are hosting a storytime session this Thursday, October 12 for kids between two to six years old. The event is completely free and they’re getting started at 4pm.
Curraghchase Pumpkin Patch: One of Limerick’s favourite Halloween activities is back as the pumpkin patch at Curraghchase Garden Centre reopens for spooky season 2023. You get to pick out your own pumpkin and carve it with the help of the Master Carvers. Tickets start at €7 per person and the full price list is available here.

Music and Nightlife
The Punchline with Deirdre O’Kane: The Punchline is a comedy club at University Concert Hall hosted by comedian, actor and UCH Panto star Tom O’Mahony. This Tuesday, October 10, he’ll be joined by Irish comedy legend Deirdre O’Kane. Fresh off her hit RTÉ talk show, the TV favourite’s gig in the University Concert Hall kicks off at 9pm – tickets are available here.
Simpsons Table Quiz: 1314 on Cecil Street are hosting a trivia night on Tuesday, October 10, and it’s all about the first 12 seasons of The Simpsons. The quiz kicks off at 8pm and tickets are available here.
Dream Wife: This London-based indie rock band burst on to the English music scene in 2018 with their self-titled debut album. This Wednesday, October 10, they’re coming to Kasbah Social Club in Dolans. Doors for the gig open at 8pm.
Sing Along Social – Diva Battle: Beyonce Vs. Britney: Kasbah Social Club is playing host to The Sing Along Social, an event hosted by The Craic Mechanics. They specialise in singing parties for people who can’t sing. It’s sort of like group karaoke but with no microphones or putting anyone on the spot. It’s about singing at the top of your lungs to all your favourite Beyoncé and Britney hits. The night kicks off at 7:30pm.

Sport
Hard Knox Pro Wrestling: Celebration: To mark one year since the initial inception of Hard Knox, the top stars of the Irish Pro Wrestling scene are gathering in Dolan’s at 5pm to put on what they’re promising will be “the show of shows.” Tickets are €21 and can be purchased here.
Treaty United v Galway United FC: Treaty United will take on Galway United FC in the League of Ireland Men’s first division on Saturday 14th October at 7.45pm in Markets Field on the Garryowen Road.
