Millennium Theatre to host fundraising concert as students and community stand in solidarity with Gaza.
Zara O’Donoghue and Fionn Heffernan, with support from the 4th Year Music Production and Events Management Class at TUS, are organizing ‘Gig for Gaza’ at the Millennium Theatre on November 13, at 7 pm. Admission is free, and donations—accepted by cash or card at the event—will go directly to the UNWRA to support Palestinian families.
The concert features a line-up of local acts, with a special guest appearance by Tamar Fawaz Nejem, a local Palestinian girl who will deliver a speech during intermission. Attendees can also participate in a raffle for prizes from local businesses.
“We will not stand for the current and horrific treatment of innocent people,” says Zara O’Donoghue, expressing the importance of this event. This event is important to the organizers as it is in aid of the innocent people who are victims of genocide. The class wants to raise awareness about the issue and offer support where they can. They will continue to fundraise, use their voice and do anything they can to try and help even a little bit of what is happening in Palestine.
The ‘Gig for Gaza’ team chose UNWRA after thorough research to ensure contributions directly aid families in Palestine
