Curraghchase Pumpkin Patch opens with family activities and autumn treats
The Curraghchase Pumpkin Patch opened its doors to visitors today, marking the start of its 2024 season. Hosted at the Curraghchase Garden Centre, this popular annual event is a much-anticipated attraction for families, running every weekend and during the days leading up to Halloween.
“You will have a lot of people, when it is getting close to Helloween, coming all dressed up,” shares Joy Conway, the organisator of the event.
Established in 2014, the Pumpkin Patch has become a beloved destination, especially for families with young children. The event offers a range of fun-filled activities, including a storytelling tent, many photo opportunities, and a spooky tunnel to explore.
The highlight, of course, is the pumpkin-picking experience, where children can gather pumpkins from the patch with a little help from some magical fairy dust. Visitors also have the chance to carve their pumpkins on-site, with all the necessary utensils and stencils provided. Pumpkins start at just €5, and staff members are on hand to assist with the carving process.
For those looking to warm up or grab a bite, the cozy café at Curraghchase Garden Centre offers a selection of hot drinks and food to enjoy during your visit.
Tickets and Fees:
Tickets to the event are available online, but many dates have already sold out, so early booking is advised. The entrance fee for the pumpkin patch is €8.50 per person, with a small additional booking fee. Please note that the price of a pumpkin is not included in the entrance fee. Children under two can enter for free. Families can also opt for the family ticket, priced at €45 (plus booking fee), which covers entry for two adults and three children and includes a medium-sized pumpkin.
