Louise Cooney launches new activewear brand ‘Cloo Active’

Limerick native, and top influencer, Louise Cooney announced the launch of her new activewear clothing brand ‘Cloo Active’. The highly anticipated clothing brand is scheduled to go live on November 26.

The 29-year-old influencer shared a post online telling her 214k followers that this new business venture was created during the lockdown.

She revealed to Limerick Voice reporter Jody Coffey that her love of fashion and fitness was what inspired this new collection of activewear.

“I’m at the point in my life where I want to plan for the future and take control of where my career might go. I’m lucky that I work with incredible brands regularly, but it’s only natural I would want to have my own brand to stand behind. Fashion is where I started and my love for fitness and being active is something I’ve always loved too. I noticed how activewear were the clothes I was getting the most wear of and stayed the longest in my wardrobe. I wanted to create pieces that are stylish, flattering, functional and I really think we’ve done that with this collection.”

Inclusive range

Irish brand ‘Cloo Active’ was built with all body types in mind, and when this range was coming to life Louise wanted to ensure that all females felt confident and comfortable in her new collection.

“Cloo is a high-quality activewear fashion brand developed for busy women with different body shapes and sizes. It is designed in Ireland and every piece is created with the modern-day multi-tasking woman in mind. We aim to instil confidence and provide comfort and practicality in what you’re wearing from morning to night.”

Louise continued that ‘Cloo Active’s’ main mission is to motivate women to lead healthy lifestyles, while also maintaining style.

“Fit and functionality are of the utmost importance when creating Cloo pieces. We encourage an active, healthy lifestyle and want you to make the most of every day wearing clothes that don’t hold you back”

Future plans

When asked if there are any plans for a store in the future, Louise was able to tell Limerick Voice that while it’s currently online only for now, that she certainly isn’t shying away from the idea.

“Right now, the plan is to focus solely online as that’s where my audience is and also a lot of us have shifted our buying habits since Covid. It’s a one-woman show at the moment, but I hope to expand, both the range and the team, so I definitely would never say never to opening a retail space, whether pop up or permanently.”

Speaking to Ireland AM on November 17, Louise was sporting some of the ‘Cloo Active’ clothing, and told hosts Muireann O Connell and Tommy Bowe that “it wasn’t a surprise” to her friends and family that she decided to create an activewear brand to life as she loves fitness, trying new classes, being active, and getting out going for walks, she continued “I literally put it on first thing in the morning, it’s like my uniform so it seemed like a natural move for me.”

She added that during lockdown when the idea of a new brand was becoming a reality that she has been the driving force behind all of the work that has gone into the creation of the brand “I started from the start, sat down with a pen and paper, did some sketches, did some mood boards, and from there it was researching manufacturers. I’ve been involved in every single aspect of the supply chain, from fulfillment to the packaging, to the marketing.”

You can keep up to date with ‘Cloo Active’ on its new Instagram page and get regular fashion inspiration from the brand creator on Louise’s personal Instagram account. The collection will be able to purchase from the ‘Cloo Active’ website on the launch date, which also coincides with Black Friday.

‘Cloo Active’ would make an ideal Christmas gift for friends and family who are passionate about fitness and fashion, and a brand new activewear wardrobe is a great New Year’s motivation to get into fitness. Exercise has never looked so good.
