Whack Vintage are hosting a pop-up in the University of Limerick courtyard today

University of Limerick business graduate, Oisín Fahy, returned to campus today, Monday, March 10 to showcase his spring/summer collection for his pop-up shop; Whack Vintage. The business has been going from “strength to strength” over the past five years, with pop-ups being hosted monthly on UL campus, as well as in the Crescent shopping centre and the Milk Market in Limerick city.

Speaking about his journey with Whack and his motivation behind starting the business he said:

“We worked with another vintage clothing brand based up in Drogheda and noticed a massive gap in the market, and a growing interest in vintage clothing in Limerick. We noticed that the style we wanted wasn’t available and decided to bridge that gap in the market”

The collection showcasing in UL on Monday features Whack’s top selling – and indeed TikTok trending – ‘Carhartt re-work jackets’, along with a broad selection of their most popular pieces.

The vintage fashion company were invited into the Crescent shopping centre in October of last year and described it an “unreal experience” and gained great traction for the business. The company has recently taken on their new social media manager, TikTok star Sam O’Hara.

Sam has been an employee of Whack Vintage for two months now, working in the shop during the week and doing the social media marketing from home. Sam describes the content side of things being “right up his street” with his experience and following on TikTok and Instagram.
