Bruised Orange are coming to Lime Tree Theatre on Friday, February 9
Bruised Orange, Ireland’s premier John Prine Tribute band, are taking center stage at the Lime Tree Theatre on Friday, February 9. Having toured extensively throughout Ireland, the band is set to deliver a memorable performance in the Treaty City.
Capping off a successful 2023, Bruised Orange was honored as the Irish Country Tribute Band of the Year by Keltic Country TV, setting the stage for a great show in Limerick.
Featuring five of Meath’s most seasoned musicians, Bruised Orange boasts Michael ‘Mike Mack’ McGarry as Prine (Guitar & Vocals), Anthony Toby Cregan (Lead Guitar, Vocals), Derek Matthews (Bass), James Quinn (Keyboards), and Shay Carry (Percussion). Together, they promise an authentic live John Prine experience.
Lead by Michael McGarry, the band mirrors John’s vocal range, weaving anecdotes and storytelling into their performance. Lead guitarist Toby Cregan, a revered figure in Navan, channels the spirit of Prine’s longtime collaborator Jason Wilbur. Bassist Derek Matthews and drummer Shay Carry bring their unique touches, inspired by Prine’s renowned bandmates.
John Prine, recognized as one of the most influential songwriters, is celebrated for his witty and socially conscious lyrics. A recipient of the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020, Prine’s songs have left an indelible mark and influenced legends like Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, and Roger Waters.
Shannonsiders will get the chance to hear John’s hits live as Bruised Orange perform all the classics at the Lime Tree Theatre on Friday, February 9. Doors open at 7 pm, with the show starting at 8 pm.
Tickets, priced at €25, are limited, so the organisers are advising people to book early so they don’t miss out.
