The band celebrated the launch of their new album, Connection, during Culture Night in Limerick City last night.

Families, friends and fans were all united to celebrate the event in Treaty City Brewery, in the Medieval Quarters of the city.

The crowd stretched from the entrance of the Treaty City Brewery to just outside King John’s Castle, to celebrate the bands new music. Connection was released this Friday, September 20.

“I’ve listened to them since I was a child. I’ve grown up with their music (…). So, it’s great to see them launch their new album in Limerick City! “, a fan said.

The Irish acoustic folk-rock band were celebrating their roots from the back of The Curragower Bar in Limerick, where it all began when the band formed in 2010 with jam sessions, which followed to writing three EP’s and five albums between 2011 and 2024.

Hermitage Green’s new project is more personal than their previous work, as the nine-track record focuses on themes such as their childhood and the importance that home has to them.
This album marks a significant departure from their major acoustic sound, introducing more rock elements and refined production. A local limerick fan commented, “It’s really different from what they normally do, but I think it’s really great for bands to branch out and go in a different direction.”

This free gig was also a way to bring in a new audience, and it was successful. “I’ve never heard of them before yesterday, and I’m so glad I discovered them, they are brilliant,” said a new listener.

The new album has shown the band are ready to explore new horizons, while remaining connected to their home, county Limerick.
