New road extension enhances connectivity in Limerick

Limerick City and County Council has announced the opening of the Bloodmill Road Extension to the public today, Friday, March 14, 2025, following the completion of this significant infrastructure project.

Developed by Priority Construction Ltd., work on the extension began on October 28, 2024. The newly realigned Bloodmill Road now connects with an eastward link road, enhancing access to key locations, including Educate Together Secondary School, the future Bon Secours Hospital and Medical Diagnostics Centre, and the Lidl retail unit in the area.

The project aims to promote sustainable travel by providing a safer and more efficient route for pedestrians, cyclists, and other road users.
