The Limerick Marine Search and Rescue Service has confirmed the body of a young person was found on Tuesday, October 29, following an eight-day search
Limerick Marine Search and Rescue confirmed that a young person has been recovered from the River Shannon following over 180 hours of searching.
The search came following reports of a man entering the River at Shannon Bridge in Limerick City shortly after 3.30 pm on Monday, October 21.
In a statement on social media, Limerick Marine Search and Rescue said the eight-day search concluded yesterday after volunteers in Bunratty Search and Rescue recovered a body.
They shared their condolences with the family of the young man.
Gardaí confirmed the discovery ‘We can confirm that the search and rescue operation has ended and a body has been recovered from Shannon river in the Limerick city area on 29th October 2024.’
