More than €100,000 worth of cocaine confiscated in Limerick city

Law enforcement officials in Limerick confiscated around 1.5 kilograms of cocaine as part of their anti-drug initiative, Operation Tara

€105,000 worth of Cocaine was confiscated in Limerick City as part of Operation Tara on Thursday, March 6, 2025, in a continued effort to combat drug trafficking in County Limerick.

Officers from the Divisional Drugs Unit, with support from the Armed Support Unit, executed a search warrant at a residential property located in the Shelbourne Road vicinity of Limerick city on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 and at a domestic residence in the Shelbourne Road area of Limerick city on Wednesday 5th March 2025.

Gardaí have confiscated around 1.5 kilograms of suspected cocaine, valued at approximately €105,000, during their investigation. The substances will be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for further examination.

A male individual in his 30s has been apprehended and transported to a Garda Station located in Limerick city. The man has since been charged and is due to appear before a special sitting of Limerick District Court at the CCJ, Mulgrave Street, Limerick at 6 pm this evening, Thursday, March 6.
