Limerick residents invited to step into the 80s for new film by Tolkien writer David Gleeson
Dublin-based production company Wide Eye Films are looking for extras for their feature-length film One Night Only.
The film is a tribute to the power of community and is set in the 1980s. It follows a struggling cinema owner who faces a series of disasters on a busy Friday night. The film is based on writer-director David Gleeson’s experiences growing up in a family who owned a cinema in Cappamore.
Gleeson has written multiple short and feature-length films since beginning his career. In recent years, Tolkien, starring Nicholas Hoult and Lily Collins, was adapted from Gleeson’s original screenplay based on the life of The Hobbit author J.R.R. Tolkien
Wide Eye Films, best known for producing Cowboys and Angels and Don’t Go, are looking for people aged between 18 and 70 based in Limerick City. Those applying must be available between November 11 and December 6.
If you are interested, email casting@wideeyefilms.com by November 22 with your name, age, phone number, Eircode, mode of transport and a full-length photo of yourself. The company are looking for people of all backgrounds, abilities and ethnicities to apply.
