Gardaí appeal for witnesses after motorcyclist killed in Askeaton crash

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man in his 30s died following a motorbike crash near Askeaton, Co. Limerick, on Wednesday evening, April 9. 

The fatal collision happened shortly before 8 pm on the N69 at Cloonreask, just outside Askeaton. The incident involved a single motorcycle, and no other vehicles were involved. 

Emergency services attended the scene, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been taken to University Hospital Limerick, where a post-mortem examination is expected to take place. 

The road remains closed this morning to allow Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to conduct a technical examination. Local diversions are in place. 

Gardaí in Newcastle West are urging anyone who was travelling on the N69 between 7.15 pm and 8.15 pm — particularly those with dash-cam or other camera footage — to contact them.
