Gardai investigate influx of Limerick home burglaries

Gardaì are investigating three separate burglaries that occurred in Limerick city and county last weekend.

The three incidents took place in the Castletroy and Ballysimon Road areas in Limerick city, and in Broadford Village, Co Limerick.

A house at Castletroy Heights is believed to have been burgled in the late hours of Saturday October 1, or the early hours of Sunday October 2, 2016.

Gardaì have reported that entry was gained by a patio door at the back of the house. During the burglary the culprits found the keys of the household car and stole a red VW Golf from the house.

This car was later located at Gooig, Castleconnell.

The second incident was a daytime burglary at a house on the Old Ballysimon Road, Limerick between 2.40pm and 5.20pm on Sunday October 2, 2016.

It is reported that entry was gained by forcing the front door of the house. A number of rooms were ransacked and several items of jewellery were stolen.

Gardaì at Dromcollogher and Newcastle West are investigating the final incident, a daytime burglary in Broadford Village, Co. Limerick between 10.30am and 7pm on Saturday October 1, 2016.

The culprits broke into a shed beside the house and stole a black coloured Raleigh Bicycle.
