Gardaí have seized cash, vehicles, and high-end goods worth more than €235,000 in a massive operation targeting an organised crime group in Limerick City.

In a coordinated series of 17 searches yesterday, Tuesday, April 15, officers raided multiple locations across the city’s southside. The operation is part of a long-running investigation into a violent feud that has rocked the area in recent months, marked by pipe bombings, arson attacks, shootings and drug-related activity.

Led by Roxboro Road Garda Station, the operation involved over 100 Garda personnel from local, regional, and national units, including the Armed Support Unit, the Dog Unit, and the Emergency Response Unit.

During the raids, Gardaí seized five vehicles, large sums of cash, suspected cannabis, luxury watches, and designer goods. The drugs are now being examined by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).

A young male was arrested in connection with the drug seizure and has since been released pending referral to the Garda Youth Diversion Programme.

Gardaí say the investigation is ongoing.
