The new multi-million euro further education and training campus will be located at the Newcastle West FET campus on Station Road
Positive news for West Limerick as the construction of a multi-million-euro further education and training campus in West Limerick has moved into the design and planning stage of development.
Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, Patrick O’Donovan made the announcement at the Newcastle West FET campus on Station Road yesterday, Monday, November 4.
Government approval and funding worth tens of millions of euros allows the Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board (ETB) to go to the pre-tender stage of development.
This new infrastructure will allow the ETB to improve the accessibility and educational routes service it provides to local students. The college will have facilities that are digitally enabled and fit for their intended use. It will also make it easier to implement new employment-themed initiatives and broaden the selection of available programs.
Speaking in his hometown yesterday, Minister O’Donovan said that the facility “will not only greatly benefit the learners and staff but the wider community of Limerick and Clare ETB.”
