The Limerick Arts Office has announced a new funding scheme which aims to support Limerick Theatre.
There are three awards of €2,500 for the Limerick Theatre Research and Development Bursaries and one €2,500 award for the Limerick Theatre Production and Presentation Bursary up for grabs.
Both individuals and organisations working in the Limerick theatre sector can apply for the bursaries.
All funding is being provided by Limerick Arts Office and The Arts Council.
The aims of the scheme are to support Limerick theatre, build capacity in the sector and to give practitioners the time and financial ability to work creatively and develop their ideas.
Sheila Deegan, Arts Officer with Limerick City and County Council said, “We recognise the need to support the research, making and development of creative work in the Limerick theatre sector, as well as its presentation.
“Introducing the bursaries, we aim to support theatre practitioners based across Limerick in their professional development, building capacity in the sector and delivering the highest standard in creativity and excellence in all aspects of cultural activity,” she added.
The new funding scheme in conjunction with the Theatre Strand of Limerick Arts and Culture Exchange (LACE) has been developed through the Limerick Professional Theatre Sector Needs Survey and the Limerick Cultural Strategy.
It hopes to build a strong relationship with Limerick City and County Council and the cultural sector through partnerships and collaborations with LACE and Professional Limerick Artists Network.
Completed application forms along with CV’s and supporting material should be sent to Limerick Arts Office, Limerick City and County Council, Merchant’s Quay, Limerick.
Applications can also be sent to email@example.com before 5.00pm on Friday 28th October 2016.
Proposals at all stages of development are welcome but the works must not have been previously performed.
