Limerick Gardai appeal for witnesses after cyclist seriously injured in collision

A 25-year-old cyclist has been seriously injured after a collision with a car at approximately 7.15am this morning on the Ballysimon Road near the Tipperary road roundabout.

Gardaí and members of the National Ambulance Service responded to the incident in which the cyclist was seemingly struck by a car on the Fairgreen side of the Tipperary road roundabout.

He is currently being treated for serious injuries in University Hospital Limerick.

A stretch of the Ballysimon road remained closed for hours to allow a forensic examination to take place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses, or motorists with dashcam footage to contact Roxboro Garda Station at 061-214340.
