This Monday morning sees The Still House and all three Habit Coffee & Retail stores fail to open for business.
Staple Limerick City Centre pub, The Still House, has ceased trading, after the company that owns it fell into voluntary liquidation.
This decision also sees the closure of a popular coffee shop with three branches in the city centre.
Habit Coffee and Retail, which traded at O’Connell Street, the junction of Catherine Street and Thomas Street, plus in Lower Shannon Street, have also ceased trading, failing to open their doors to customers this morning, February 26.
Confirming the closures, financial difficulties, including debts to Revenue, rising minimum wage costs, and increased VAT rates were cited as the primary reasons behind this decision.
The business also owned a coffee truck operating in Shannon Town.
Limerick Voice understand that 22 jobs have been lost due to these closures, with staff told of the news on Sunday, February 25.
