Plans for Limerick’s St. Patricks Day Festival 2025 are in full effect with this year’s theme being announced.
The ‘A More Fun Limerick’ St. Patrick´s Day celebrations will last between March 15-17. Major of Limerick, John Moran, spoke about this year’s chosen theme, “(…), ‘A More Fun Limerick,’ truly captures the essence of Limerick and of course having fun is a key ingredient in making it one of the best places to live in Europe.”
The festival is set to host a range of events for all the family to enjoy. From musical performances, live street shows, and many parades across the county. Festivals and Events Coordinator at Limerick City and County Council, Eileen Coleman, described what people can expect from this year’s events, “This year’s festival is set to be our best yet… Our festival not only brings joy and excitement but also helps to elevate Limerick’s profile as a must-visit destination.” This year’s parade will take place in Limerick City at 12 pm, on March 17. A few events hosted throughout the weekend will include:
- Limerick’s St. Patrick’s Day Parades: Hosted across the city and county.
- The Most Dangerous Animal in the World: An interactive theatre experience for the whole family. · Inis
- The Limerick Experience: An Irish folk music concert featuring some local Limerick artists.
- 53rd International Band Championship: A music display of international bands, followed by a musical jamboree at Arthur’s Quay Park.
- Tales of St. Patrick by the Limerick Fireside: A storytelling experience all about the history and legend of St. Patrick.
- Post Parade Block Party: Featuring costumed dancers and a DJ, this celebration will keep the magic of the parade in Limerick City.
- Céilí Mór & Ceol: live music for everyone to enjoy.
- St. Patrick’s Weekend at Limerick Milk Market: Enjoy all the food, crafts and entertainment that the Milk Market has to offer over the festive weekend.
- Live Irish Dancing with Scoil úi Nualláin: A display of traditional Irish dancing.
- Toast To Fashion: An event to celebrate Limerick’s fashion scene held in Patrickswell.
- Breakfast Bangers: A musical breakfast held before the St Patrick’s Day Parade featuring performances from the ICO Youth Orchestra.
