Knocklong Homes Initiative Offers Major Savings for Working Families
Limerick City and County Council’s latest scheme offers up to 60% discounts on modern homes for first-time buyers in Knocklong. The initiative aims to help working families move from renting to owning, with applications being accepted from December 16, 2024.
This is the fourth initiative under the New Build Incremental Purchase Scheme in Limerick. Eligible applicants will have the chance to apply for discounted 3-bedroom and 4-bedroom homes at Baker Place, Bridge Street, Knocklong.
Applicants can begin the process from December 16 at 9:30 am, and applications will close on January 10, 2025, at 5 pm.
Applications must be completed fully before being submitted to be considered, including Mortgage Approval in Principle.
These homes are set to be energy efficient with modern features and will be priced between €112,000 and €210,000, at discounts of 40%-60% based on income.
The homes are currently under construction but are set to be completed soon.
Limericks Mayor, John Moran said “Tackling housing challenges right across Limerick is a critical part of our strategy. It is nice to see this project right in the heart of Knocklong. The scheme, although modest, offers more people an affordable way to settle down. It is part of an objective to foster strong, sustainable communities with a diverse mix of tenures, incomes, and housing types. Homeownership helps create strong community bonds and additionally, it reduces reliance on the State exchequer by lessening the need for HAP and RAS revenue spend.”
