Man accused of murder of Limerick school boy further remanded in custody

A man in his 20s has re-appeared in Limerick District Court in connection with the murder of 11-year-old Brooklyn Colbert.

Patrick Dillon, 26, of Dalgaish Park, Moyross, was charged last Thursday evening in connection with the murder of the Limerick school boy.

The 26-year-old appeared via video link from Limerick Prison before Judge Mary Larkin shortly before 11 am this Tuesday morning.

Mr Dillon is charged with the murder of Brooklyn Colbert at a house on Shanabooly Road, Ballynanty, Limerick, on Sunday, November 3rd last.

The family of the murdered eleven year old were present in court for the brief hearing.

Solicitor John Kiely, of Kiely McCarthy Solicitors, said that they were awaiting directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The accused was further remanded in custody for another 28 days. The case was adjourned until December 10th next, when he will appear at Limerick District Court again via video link.
