Man arrested in Limerick as Gardaí target organised crime

Suspect linked to burglaries and high-value car theft detained after intelligence-led operation

As part of ongoing investigations targeting an Organised Crime Group (OCG), a man suspected of involvement in both business and residential burglaries, as well as the theft of high-value vehicles, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon, April 9, 2025, in Limerick City.

The man, aged in his late 30s, is currently being detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 at a Garda station in the Southern Region.

The arrest followed an intelligence-led operation carried out by Gardaí from the Clare/Tipperary Division, with support from Regional Support Units and the Garda Air Support Unit.

The investigation is ongoing.
