Are you looking for a cheap, environmentally friendly way to get around Limerick?
Transport for Ireland have confirmed that they have completed the construction of a new bike station at the University of Limerick campus.
The self-service bike rental service is open to everyone over the age of 14, with 23 stations and 215 bikes available across Limerick City, this being the first station in Castletroy.
Students can rent bikes from the station located adjacent to the University Concert Hall and they can be returned to any station across the city. There is space for 56 bikes at the UL station.
The TFI bike service is available 7 days a week from 5 am to 12:30 am, making it ideal for commuters within the city. Annual membership costs €10, with passes available for visitors or short-term users. A 3-day pass is available for short-term users. A €150 security deposit will be held on your card for both subscriptions.
The first 30 minutes of each hire are free, with a small per-hour charge after that.
The TFI Bike app offers help on station locations, bike and stand availability, route planning, as well as account information and activity.
