“I’m excited to support Shannon Rowing Club”
Champion rower, Kenny McDonald, is taking to the catwalk in aid of Shannon Rowing Club.
The world champion and Garda is set to make his runway debut on Thursday, February 20, in The Strand Hotel.
“I’ve spent most of my life competing on the water, but I love trying new fundraising initiatives and I’m excited to support Shannon Rowing Club in this way,” said the Limerick-born rower.
The Garda is no stranger to fundraising, climbing Carrauntoohil and carrying a four-stone rowing machine on his back while doing so.
McDonald will be joined on the runway by fellow rowing athletes Megan Carmody, Kate Healy, Shannon Rowing Club captain Michael O’Callaghan and models from the Hilary Thompson Agency, which will feature the latest in Limerick fashion.
“This event allows us to share the passion of our sport while supporting the vital work of Shannon Rowing Club and we are looking forward to a really great night.” Added Michael O’Callaghan.
The night will start with a prosecco reception at 6.30 pm in Shannon Rowing Club House on Sarsfield Bridge before moving to The Strand Hotel for the main event.
Tickets are available to purchase on Eventbrite.
