A number of shots were fired at a family home in the outskirts of Limerick city this morning.
Gardai responded to a call to a house in Glenbrook, Old Singland Road at around 12.10 AM after shots were discharged through the front sitting room window and front door of the house.
It has been confirmed that the family who were at home at the time of the shooting have not been injured.
The house and surrounding area have been forensically examined by members of the Divisional Scenes of Crime Unit and Gardai are appealing to anybody who was in the area between 11 PM and 1 AM to contact them.
Gardai are particularly appealing to anybody who was travelling at Bloodmill Road, Childers Road or Groody Road and who may have seen anything unusual to come forward.
