As part of new Christmas contractor Milestone Inventive’s elaborate programme, a Christmas Village has taken over Arthur’s Quay Park until December 22. The company are also responsible for Galway’s beloved festive market in Eyre Square.
Mayor of the City and County of Limerick Francis Foley says of Limerick’s new winter addition and wider offerings, “With traditional food and craft fairs, an exciting entertainment line-up, an impressive display of dazzling lights, an incredible hospitality offering and some seasonal favourites, as well as sensational new events; Christmas 2022 is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever before.
“Christmas is such a wonderful time of year, and it is magical in Limerick, the atmosphere is truly memorable. There is something for everyone in Limerick this year with more events than ever before. I’m confident they will entice even more people to visit Limerick City Centre, as families and friends get together and enjoy the Christmas festive offering.”
As is tradition, Limerick On Ice is also taking place in Arthur’s Quay Park this winter, right up until Sunday, January 8. Suitable for all ages, the ice-skating rink is Limerick’s most popular festive attraction each year.
As if that’s not enough excitement, a Christmas Tree Maze is also open at Arthur’s Quay Park every Saturday and Sunday until Christmas weekend. Those young and old are invited to ‘wander through the magical maze, discover all its secrets and make it through to the other side!’
Limerick will also play host to a wide range of Christmas markets in other areas of the city, including The Milk Market and Wickham Way, as well as a festive fair on Bedford Row – all guaranteed to put you in a jubilant mood!
