TV Chef Nevin McGuire praised a local Limerick charity at an event this week.
The celebrity chef brought his road show cookery demonstration to the Radisson Blue Hotel in Limerick in aid of the Clare’s Wish Foundation on Thursday October 6.
Mr McGuire said: “It’s a fantastic charity for a very good cause and it’s great to be here in Limerick. I want to thank all the people and all the display stands who make the event possible.”
Clare’s Wish Foundation was setup in 2013 by Kevin Clancy in memory of his sister. The new charity grants wishes to terminally ill people.
The charity founder said: “We have granted 25 wishes so far and there’s nothing better than seeing a smile on people’s faces when their wish is fulfilled.”
Mr Clancy told some stories about people they have helped, including an elderly lady who just wanted to go to Killarney. He stressed the importance of creating awareness for the charity, so that they can continue granting people their wishes.
The event gathered a large crowd including local attendees who said that: “it’s a fantastic cause, like Make a Wish but for adults.”
This event is one of the many fundraising events for the Clare’s Wish Foundation. From these events it is hoped that more awareness will be created around the young charity.
