As part of Operation Tara, Gardaí have recovered over €500,000 worth of drugs

A vehicle was stopped by Gardaí on Friday November 22 as part of the intelligence-led operation. The vehicle was searched, and Gardaí discovered an estimated €490,000 worth of a drug suspected to be cocaine.

A separate warranted search of a property was carried out in the city which revealed a further estimated €70,000 worth of suspected cocaine.

The drugs seized will undergo a further analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.

Two men aged in their 40s and 60s are currently being detained in connection with the seizure in a Garda station in the Limerick area under the Drug Traffic Act 1996.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
