The University of Limerick careers fair is returning to UL Sports Arena for its 17th year running on Thursday 6th October.
The fair will run from 12pm to 4pm in the sports hall at the University of Limerick.
There will be 145 exhibitors on site, with over 7,000 graduate jobs on offer, looking to engage with final year students from all disciplines.
This is an opportunity for students to meet potential employers and learn about what each company has to offer. The Cooperative Education & Careers Division in UL organise the event to provide career opportunities for their students.
Davina Noonan, a careers advisor at UL, said, “The event offers a fantastic opportunity to network with potential employers. I’d encourage students to target companies where they envisage themselves securing employment post-graduation.”
Students can use this opportunity to learn more about the companies that they are most interested in and gather information on potential employers.
Ms Noonan offered her advice to UL students who are attending the event. “Collect the business cards, email addresses and phone numbers, follow up and connect on LinkedIn. It’s not just about showing up on the day, there’s real value in building a professional relationship with these decision makers,” she said.
Ms Noonan expressed concern for students on the search for jobs in Ireland post graduation and advised them to take opportunities where possible.
“Employment statistics are still not where we’d like them to be so it really is about expanding your network,” she said.
