Yellow weather warning issued for Limerick

Strong winds and heavy rain is to be expected in five counties.

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow wind warning for Limerick, amid the current spell of wet and windy weather.

The warning also covers counties Clare and Galway, and is set to last from 1am to 8am tomorrow morning.

It comes as a separate Status Yellow wind and rainfall warning has been issued for Cork and Kerry, which is valid from 7pm this evening until 6am tomorrow morning.

According to Met Éireann, “very strong and gusty southwest winds can be expected” for a time on Tuesday morning, warning of possible impacts like falling branches and difficult travelling conditions.

Road users are being urged to exercise caution if travelling overnight.
