No Candidate Reaches Quota in Limerick City
The official results from the second count for the general election here in Limerick City have been released. No candidate has reached the quota of 8,435 as of yet.
The top spot stays with Willie O’Dea (FF), who has gained a total of 68 votes and now has a total of 8,282. Kieran O’Donnell (FG) also remains in his stop from the first count in second place with a 57 vote increase now sitting at 6,190. Maurice Quinlivan (SF) stays at number three with a 24-vote increase now having 5,960 votes.
Battle Over the Fourth Seat Remains a Close Call
The fourth seat is still a close call with all the next top four candidates sitting within a window of 109 votes. Dee Ryan (FF) is still the top contender for the seat with 2,863 votes followed by Maria Byrne (FG) with 2835, then Elisa O’Donovan (SD) with 2,841 and finally Conor Sheehan (LAB) with 2,754.
Melanie Cleary (IND) received the lowest number of votes in the second count of 676 votes therefore, she has been removed from the running. Her votes will now be distributed for the third count.
