General Election 2024: The Fight for the Fourth Seat Continues After the Release of the First Count

Tight Race for Limerick City’s Fourth Seat as First Count Results Are Revealed

Final numbers have been released for the first count here in Limerick City. As of current no candidate has reached the quota of 8,435.

Willie O’Dea (FF) still holds the top vote with 8,214 followed by Kieran O’Donnell (FG) with 6,133 votes. Filling third place so far is Maurice Quinlivan (SF) with 5,936 votes.

The fourth seat is still up for grabs with four candidates with over 2,500 votes battling for the spot including Dee Ryan (FF) with 2,831, Maria Byrne (FG) with 2,813, Elisa O’Donovan (SD) with 2,808 and finally Conor Sheehan (LAB) with 2,733.

The two candidates with the lowest votes were Dean Lillis (IND) with 132 votes and Michelle Hayes (IND) with 394 votes have now been taken out of the run and their votes will go to other candidates to be seen in the second count.
