The Irish U-19 women’s team are set to play England in a European Championship qualifier in Markets Field, home of Treaty United.

The “girls in green” will also host Switzerland at Markets Field on Saturday (October 23), before hosting Northern Ireland the following Tuesday at Jackman Park (October 26).

Speaking to FAI.ie, Ireland manager David Connell has welcomed the decision to play the games in Limerick:

“We’ve had fantastic support from the people of Limerick in the past. It’s a real football city, and it would be great if we could get a big crowd again, as that would mean a lot to the players and spur them on,” said Connell.

Treaty United’s Jenna Slattery has been selected for the squad. The defender is one of fourteen squad members (out of twenty) to have played in the SSE Airtricity Women’s National League so far this season.

Limerick native Nicole McNamara, who currently plays for Galway WFC, has also made the cut.

Tickets will be available for the games at the gate.
