The signing is sure to cause excitement among fans with the first match right around the corner
Treaty United have announced the signing of talented winger Karl O’Sullivan ahead of their season opener against Cobh Ramblers at Markets Field on Friday.
The Glin native returns to Limerick after a season with Galway United, bringing nearly 150 Premier Division games of experience with him.
Those who followed Limerick FC will remember O’Sullivan from his time at the club when he made a big impression as a youngster in 2017 before going on to make nearly 60 appearances across the Premier Division and First Division on Shannonside.
O’Sullivan then made the move to Finn Harps in the Premier Division with whom he spent two seasons in the top-flight. The winger moved on to North West rivals Sligo Rovers in 2022, spending two seasons with the Bit O’Red. O’Sullivan made six appearances for John Russell’s side in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers in 2022 as they went on a great run to the Third Round having beaten Bala Town and Motherwell in the first two rounds.
2024 saw Karl line out for John Caulfield’s Galway United, grabbing five assists in 30 appearances as the side contended for a European spot until late in the season.
Speaking to TreatyUnitedFC.com, manager Tommy Barrett was delighted to have signed a local talent ahead of the new season:
“Karl is a great signing for us. He’s a local lad who has Premier and European experience from his time in the league and will bring another edge to our attacking threat. He’s technically really good and I think he’ll be an important player for us.”
The 25-year-old winger becomes the latest addition to Tommy Barrett’s squad as they look ahead to the season opener against Cobh Ramblers at the Markets Field on Friday, February 14 at 7:45PM.
