Munster Rugby have today announced that loosehead prop Micheal Milne and hooker Lee Barron have joined the province until the end of the season.

The Leinster players will make the temporary move ahead of their permanent move to Munster this summer. The signings come as a timely boost for the squad following injuries to Jeremy Loughman and Diarmuid Barron in recent clashes with La Rochelle and Bordeaux-Begles over the past fortnight.

Milne, a 26-year-old loosehead prop from Birr, Co. Offaly, has made 48 appearances and scored 12 tries for Leinster since debuting in 2019. The Birr native has previously played alongside Munster players Josh Wycherley, Craig Casey, and John Hodnett in the Ireland U20’s 2019 Grand Slam-winning team. Milne has also represented Emerging Ireland and trained with the senior national squad.

Barron has made 23 appearances and scored three tries for Leinster since his 2022 debut. The Dublin native been apart of the Leinster line up for the last five years and earned U20 international honours with Ireland.

Both players are expected to join with the Munster squad at the High-Performance Centre (HPC) in Limerick this week.

Munster are back in URC action this Saturday when they welcome the Bulls to Thomond Park. Kickoff is at 5.15 pm
