2016 All-Ireland Champions Na Piarsaigh secured their county final berth with a four point victory over Doon last Saturday’s semi-final on a scoreline of 2-18 to 2-14.

Their goals came courtesy of Limerick star, Kevin Downes and a late strike from Peter Casey which turned the tide of the game and ensured his side finished the stronger adding two scores at the death.

The Caherdavin based club must now wait to discover who they will contest the final against after reigning champions, Patrickswell, needed a replay to see off the challenge of Ballybrown in their quarter-final clash.

Similar to Na Piarsaigh, they ran out four point victors on of a score of 0-17 to 0-13 in the Gaelic Grounds.

Ballybrown were forced to play the entire second half with 14 men following the dismissal of Ross Griffin for a reckless tackle on Diarmaid Byrnes.

Patrickswell who under the stewardship of legendary Limerick hurler Gary Kirby must now look towards a semi-final clash against the winners of Kilmallock and Adare’s quarter-final game.

While in the senior football championship, Monaleen were dumped out of the championship by 2015 Newcastle West on a score line of 2-10 to 0-9.

Newcastle West’s goals both coming from Jamie Lee, who finished with a personal tally of 2-5, with 2-4 of that from play.

They will take on either Dromcollogher-Broadford or Adare, who are aiming for finals in both codes.

The final clash is penciled in for October 22.
