UL take on TU Dublin tonight with a 7 pm start in the capital

UL travel to Grangegorman this evening to take on TU Dublin in the Sigerson Cup quarter-final, with throw-in set for 7 p.m.
The match will be available to watch live on the GAA Higher Education YouTube channel.

This year UL are looking to maintain aspirations of winning the Sigerson Cup for the first time. The Limerick college has previously come up short in the Sigerson Cup finals of 1997, 2022, and 2023.

In the first round, the Limerick college breezed past ATU Galway at home, winning 3-17 to 1-10. In round two, they were defeated by the hotly tipped Ulster University by just one point. Brouder’s charges rebounded from the tough loss quickly, defeating the University of Galway last Wednesday thanks in large part to two goals from Kerry’s Cian O’Grady and one from Mayo native Cian McHale.

Limerick representation in the squad sees Mungret St Paul’s Darragh O’Hagan and Cormac Woulfe of St Senans line out for UL in the competition. O’Hagan has lined up in midfield for the college while Woulfe is the team’s vice-captain at full back.

There is also Limerick representation in the management team – the side is managed by Newcastle West’s Declan Brouder and has Seanie Buckley of Dromcollogher Broadford as a member of the backroom team.

UL team last time out: Billy Hogan (Longwood, Meath); Paddy O’Driscoll (Gabriel Rangers, Cork), Cormac Woulfe (St. Senan’s, Limerick), Fenton Kelly (Davitts, Mayo); Eoin Clifford (Laune Rangers, Kerry), Darragh Cashman (Capt) (Millstreet, Cork), Daniel Walsh (Kilmurry Ibrickane, Clare); Thomas O’Donnell (Castlegregory, Kerry), Darragh O’Hagan (Mungret St. Paul’s, Limerick); Conal Dawson (Westport, Mayo), Jack McCabe (Corofin, Galway), Darragh Heneghan (Michael Glavey’s, Roscommon); Cian McHale (Moy Davitts, Mayo), Sean McDonnell (Mallow, Cork), Cian O’Grady (Castlegregory, Kerry)

Westmeath native and inter-county referee Alan Coyne is the man in the middle in Grangegorman tonight.

The other quarter-finals will see UCD face MTU Kerry, DCU take on TUS Midlands, and Ulster University take on Maynooth University.

The Limerick Voice will provide a full match report of the Sigerson Cup quarter-final between UL and TU Dublin at full-time.
