Treaty have appointed from within to replace the departing Dominic Foley

Treaty United have confirmed that Sean Russell is the new head coach of the senior women’s team.

Russell is familiar with the club set up having spent this season with the WU17 side. He has now signed a multi-year deal and will replace Dominic Foley who guided the senior team to a 7th place finish this season.

The new manager has significant experience having played in the League of Ireland for nine years along with a spell in the United States.

After Russell’s playing career ended prematurely, he spent the past five seasons coaching at Elite National Youth, Women’s League of Ireland, and Senior Men’s Football. He holds UEFA B diploma qualified 2021 and UEFA A diploma qualified in August 2024.

Treaty’s CEO Ciara McCormack commented on the appointment: “Sean has worked with our academy teams over the last few months. His passion for coaching and ability to develop players is at some of the highest levels I have ever seen. As we look to integrate local players into our senior team and build our club into one that is challenging for titles, Sean stood out as someone we feel confident can help us do that in the years to come”.

New manager Sean Russell said, “I’m absolutely delighted to take on the role, it’s been a big ambition of mine, I’ve been working towards this over the past few years, it’s a proud moment”.

“What is important is setting high standards, every single day, every single session, every single game, this will result in positive actions, and we will get to where we want to be”.
