Treaty United manager Tommy Barrett has announced his 26 man squad for Treaty United’s upcoming SSE Airtricity League First Division campaign.
With the Limerick side only receiving formal approval in compete in the league a week ago, Barrett has been busy putting a panel together.
Marc Ludden, who spent eight years at Galway United, is the highest profile signing with the veteran bringing experience to a youthful squad.
Shane Cusack and Tadgh Ryan will compete for the goalkeeping spots. Cusack was previously on the books at Limerick FC while Ryan was previously a part of Huddersfield Town’s set up.
However, he has struggled to nail down a regular starting spot since returning home with spells at Waterford FC and Cork City.
Clyde O’Connell, once of Fairview Rovers is a notable signing that can be used in either defence or midfield. He scored the winning goal in the FAI Junior Cup final last year against Usher Celtic.
In the defence, Alan Murphy, previously of Fairview while Aaron Fitzgerald who lined out for Janesboro are joined by former St Michael’s captain Sean Guerin
Former Shamrock Rovers and Cork City winger Joel Custrain has been added to the ranks with Barrett aiming to reinvigorate the playmaker’s career.
The striking department is a worry with Treaty United’s attempts to lure Enda Curran to Limerick proving unsuccessful.
Former Athlone Town striker Dean George has been recruited to score the necessary goals.
