Lee Devitt doubled up on awards as he received Members’ and Players’ player of the year.
With Treaty finishing out the 2024 League Of Ireland First Division season with their 2-1 victory over Finn Harps, it was time for the awards on Monday night.
There were five awards up for grabs on the night and the winners are as follows:
Young player of the year: Robbie Lynch
Eighteen-year-old right-back Robbie Lynch claimed the young player of the year award, as voted by his teammates and coaching staff. He had a phenomenal season, making 30 appearances in all competitions and scoring twice, notching an assist in the Munster Senior Cup.
Goal of the year: Yoyo Mahdy
The goal of the season for the Shannonsiders belongs to former UCD star Yoyo Mahdy. The striker received the award for his stunning free-kick against Wexford in the 3-2 defeat on April 5.
Management and Coaches’ player of the year: Corey Chambers
The Wexford shot stopper Corey Chambers was his staff’s player of the season, keeping nine clean sheets in the league and making 35 overall appearances for the Super Blues throughout the year. Chambers was always dependable for Treaty, having some competition over the course of the campaign from Michael Dike.
Members’ Player of the year, Players’ player of the year: Lee Devitt
The United talisman Lee Devitt was the pick by members of the club and his clubmates for player of the year. It’s with very good reason they pick the box-to-box midfielder, as he made 38 outings for the Limerick club this year. He contributed 10 goals and an assist in all competitions, with his overall play being crucial for Treaty all season.
