Newcastlewest are the 2021 Limerick Senior Football Champions following their 1-8 to 0-5 win over Adare in last Friday’s final.
AJ O’Connor came off the bench with an inspiring 1-1 to bring the Fr Casey Memorial Cup back to Newcastlewest for the first time since 2019.
For manager Jimmy Lee, the victory was a sweet one, as he told Limerick Voice this week.
With the obstacles of other sports like soccer, rugby and hurling, as well as college and other commitments, Lee outlined how important it is for players to be comfortable in playing:
“You have to be happy in what you’re doing to perform to your best”, said Lee.
