Laurie Ryan has been appointed as the new manager for Treaty United senior women’s team.
Following the departure of Sean Russell, Dave Rooney took charge of the women’s team in the interim for the final two games of the season. The latter takes place tomorrow, where they travel to the RSC, facing 11th-placed Waterford.
A native of County Clare, Laurie Ryan will officially take over the position when preparations begin for the start of the 2026 season.
In Ryan’s own personal playing career, she previously captained Athlone Town to the 2023 FAI Cup and League of Ireland title in 2024. She also is a former captain of the Clare Ladies Gaelic Football team.
Speaking about the appointment of Laurie Ryan, Treaty United CEO Ciara McCormack said: “She represents everything we value at the club — leadership, professionalism, and a deep connection to the Mid-West region. Her track record as a captain, coach, and educator makes her an ideal fit to guide our women’s program into an exciting new chapter.”
