Treaty United’s teen star Madison McGuane was crowned Young Player of the Year at the 2025 SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division Awards last night.
The ceremony, held at the Alex Hotel in Dublin, also honoured Treaty attacker Bella Flocchini and former manager Sean Russell.

McGuane, who only turned sixteen this past August, adds the award to the Player of the Month honour she received in May alongside winning this year’s Republic of Ireland Under-17 International Player of the Year.
The Limerick native was voted ahead of Aoibhe Brennan (Bohemians), Ellen Dolan, Mary Phillips (Peamount United), Ella Kelly (Shamrock Rovers) and Bonnie McKiernan (Sligo Rovers).
Treaty attacker Isabella Flocchini was named in the Team of The Year, but narrowly missed out on a Player of the Year double to Athlone Town’s Kelly Brady.
New Yorker Brady had a stellar season for the Midlanders, scoring 26 goals in all competition on course to a domestic double.
Nonetheless, the TOTY nod puts a cherry on top of Flocchini’s phenomenal year with the Shannonsiders, with her thirteen league goals from midfield already earning herself their Fans’, Players’, and Management Player of the Year.
The other players nominated included Wexford’s Ellen Molloy and the Athlone Town trio of Madison Gibson, Roisin Molloy and Hannah Waesch.
Bohemians’ Alban Hysa claimed Manager of the Year over Athlone Town’s Colin Fortune and Treaty’s third and final nominee – their former manager, Sean Russell.
Elsewhere, Shelbourne forward Kate Mooney won Goal of the Year for her strike against Peamount United and her team-mate Amanda McQuillan bagged the Golden Glove after recording eight clean sheets.
