For the first time in over 10 years, The Human League will bring their eclectic sound to Ireland. The band have announced they will be returning to Ireland for a “very special live outdoor performance at King John’s Castle, Limerick, on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026.”
The performance will feature a special guest appearance from Irish rock band, Cry Before Dawn.
The Human League are approaching their fifth decade together and still plan to “deliver unforgettable live shows that span their extraordinary catalogue of hits”, including their multi-platinum album “Dare!” and hit song “Don’t You Want Me.”
They originally formed in Sheffield in 1978 and went on to sell more than 25 million records all over the world. The group have truly become a landmark of the British music industry.
“With an unapologetic mix of political songwriting, distinctive visuals, and innovative sound, their impact has stretched far beyond music into fashion and club culture across the UK, Europe, the US, and beyond.” This of course includes the Treaty City, where the event will be held.
This will be their first gig in Ireland since 2015 which will bring big crowds to Dolan’s next year.
Founder of Dolan’s, Mick Dolan, is proud to bring another huge act to Limerick, following the recent announcement of Pixies’ successive sellout shows at King John’s Castle in 2026.
“We’re thrilled to welcome The Human League to King John’s Castle. Their influence on pop and electronic music is undeniable, and this promises to be an unforgettable night in one of Ireland’s most iconic venues.
“The Human League’s music has stood the test of time, and this concert will be a celebration of their incredible legacy”, he said.
Tickets for the event are set to go on sale next Friday, 24 October, from 10am on Ticketmaster.
